WASTE REDUCTION – USED DOUBLE AND SINGLE SIDED CARTS AS WELL AS CRATES DURING OFFICE MOVE

PROJECT STORY

Nutter, McClennen & Fish; 155 Seaport Boulevard

In 2011, Nutter, McClennen and Fish did a full firm renovation over a period of nine months. We moved everyone to a swing space floor and then back to the final seat. The firm was remodeled and everyone moved at least twice. Purging days prior to each floor move resulted in these green statistics:

Savings of Recaptured Office Resources and Supplies

  • 75 books were returned to their library
  • 6,445 boxes were sent to offsite storage
  • 40,000 files were put back in their rightful place
  • 1,200 missing files were found
  • 800 binders, 700 hanging files and 500 pens and pencils were recaptured

Waste Reduction

Through the purging process, waste paper was captured, which resulted in recycling 70 65-gallon bins of shredded paper.

When the actual move took place, it’s not surprising that Nutter stayed committed to their green efforts. No cartons or cardboard boxes were used, Nutter used 980 crates and 455 carts for the entire move, saving an estimated 8,444 corrugated cartons.
