CLEANING AND TOXICS – FLOOR SCRUBBER THAT IONIZES WATER

PROJECT STORY

Friends of Post Office Square; Garage at Post Office Square

Purchased a Tennant T20 Ecoscrubber floor scrubber. In order to preserve the integrity of our parking decks, we wash each level weekly to remove dirt, salt and debris. For many years, our scrubber used detergent and water to wash, with a second pass of water to rinse. Once we learned of the Ecoscrubber, we bought one to save time and money, and use less chemicals. The Ecoscrubber ionizes water to clean the floors, there is no detergent used, and no need for a second rinse step.

Environmental Impact

We discharge only half the water that we previously used for each floor wash, and we no longer use detergent, eliminating 550+ gallons of chemicals each year.

Cost

$49,907

Savings

Detergent is no longer purchased, which saves $9,865 per year.
There is a slight reduction in water used, however the cost savings is minimal.
