Hotels typically print receipts for every customer. Offering guests electronic receipts allows them to be emailed rather than printed and still allows guests to request printed receipts.
Offering guests electronic receipts reduces the use of paper, and many guests may prefer to handle their transactions online. In addition, many thermal-printed receipts (such as those printed out for a credit card transaction) have been found to carry a chemical called Bisphenol A (BPA), which has been linked to developmental and reproductive problems.
