Customers can be encouraged and allowed to use their own reusable containers when taking home leftovers or ordering take-out.
When customers provide their own containers, restaurants do not need to purchase or provide as many disposable take-out containers as they otherwise would. which will likely be used only once. Disposable containers are usually not recyclable and often end up in a landfill or incinerated. Encouraging customers to use their own containers diverts take-out containers from the waste stream and reduces the amount of air and water pollution from waste disposal facilities.
